Getting a summer camp job abroad involves contracts, visas and interviews. Here's exactly how we get you through all of it — and what's included at each step.
The Process
Five steps to your summer abroad
Step 1 — Apply & interview
Send us your details through the application form. A Robinhood Overseas representative interviews you personally — we assess your skills honestly and tell you which program and camps genuinely fit. No false promises.
Step 2 — Camp placement & contract
We check and cross-check your documents before anything is submitted, prepare you for the camp's own interview, and match you with a camp that needs your skills. When the camp hires you, you receive your official contract letter.
Step 3 — Visa consulting & training
For the USA this means the J-1 Camp Counselor visa: we complete the application forms with you, assemble the supporting documents, and run full visa-interview training so you walk into the consulate prepared.
Step 4 — Camp orientation
Before you fly, you attend our pre-departure orientation: how camp life runs day to day, your responsibilities, cultural tips, what to pack — everything our founder learned in 14 years at USA camps.
Step 5 — Fly out & work your season
You travel to camp with airport pickup arranged at the other end. Then it's 9 weeks of doing what you love, getting paid, with free food and accommodation — and Robinhood Overseas stays reachable for the whole season if you ever need help.
What You'll Need
Documents & eligibility
- Valid passport (or willingness to apply for one — we'll guide you)
- Age 18 or older
- Conversational spoken and written English
- A skill or activity you can teach — sports, arts, music, outdoors and more
- Genuine enthusiasm for working with children
- Availability for the camp season (roughly June–August for USA camps)
